The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is to support the creation, development, sharing and application of knowledge about technology and science for the benefit of students. The IEEE student Branch of SJCET was inaugurated on March 2nd 2005 by Mr. S Gopakumar, Head Computer Session VSSC & IEEE students activity Chair Kerala Section. He delivered an awareness session on IEEE and its activities.

We are pride to have Mr. C Brajesh, Project manager NEST as the branch mentor. He made a visit to our campus on 26-08-05. He is acting as a mediator between the college and industries.  

The total strength of IEEE student branch was 32 students with Mr. Binu P John   as the Branch Counselor. The branch has conducted many activities like personality development Invited talks national level technical Symposium and as well as a Project Exhibition.

Mr. Aju Thomas Abraham, Academic Relationship Manager TCS Kerala Section delivered a talk on Careers in IT and importance of IEEE membership in Professional Career on 06-08-05.

Mr. K N Premkumar, Head Broad Bank Network, Reliance Infocomm. Kerala visited our college on 03-09-05 and gave a talk on Mobile Computing.

Mr. Paul Ansel V has taken over as the new branch counselor on January 2006. the membership campaign for the year 2006 is going on and 22 students have joined IEEE in the year 2006.Mr. Arun S Gopinath (EEE) took over as Branch counsellor from Paul Ansel V in August 2007 and Mr. Sabarinath G took over as Branch counsellor from Mr. Arun S Gopinath in June 2008
