The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SJCET
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SJCET is an active forum for:
- Fostering good relationships between parents and teachers.
- Encouraging spirit of cooperation and pride in the accomplishments of the college.
Objectives
- To work for the welfare of students, teachers and also for the development of the institution
- To foster and promote good relationship among the teaching staff, students and parents/guardians of the students
- To assist students coming from socially and economically backward groups financially to complete Engineering education successfully
- To promote the activities of the Training and Placement Cell and to conduct seminars and Technical/Training programmes for the students to achieve technology-oriented skills.
- To institute scholarships, prizes, medals, endowments etc to encourage students showing high proficiency in their studies and co-curricular activities.
The activities of the PTA are planned and implemented by the Executive Committee, elected / nominated every year, in the Annual General Body Meeting. The Committee, in turn, elects the office-bearers viz the President (Parent), the Vice-President (Parent), the Secretary (Teacher) and members from among both Parents and Teachers. The General Body meets at least once in a year, and the Executive Committee meets on a regular basis/as and when required, to consider various matters pertaining to the discipline and development of the College.
Apart from rendering financial assistance for various programmes connected with the College and also for enhancing the physical resources in the Campus, the association has been an effective and supportive forum for the maintenance of the discipline as well as sustenance of academic excellence in the Campus
