Objectives of the Department:

  • To impart the best technical education in the field of instrumentation, as well as to improve the moral and ethical values of the students with the support of well qualified, efficient and caring teachers in this area.
  • To set up a strong Research & Development (R & D) group. In this regard facilities will be created to initiate research activities in the different fields such as Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, Optoelectronics, Optical Fiber sensor techniques, etc.

About the Department:

        B.Tech. courses in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation started   at St.Joseph's College of Engineering & Technology in the year 2002, when the college started functioning.

 

         For the first three years the Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Department as well as Electronics & Communication Engineering   Department were functioning as a single department. Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Depatment started functioning as a separate department since November 2005, when Dr.K.J.Wilson took up the charge as Professor & Head. Now the department is headed by Prof. Madhukumar.S.

       The department library has got a large number of books and journals in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation engineering. Library also have back up volumes of the previous year's seminar / project reports ,CDs for student's reference. The library is kept open from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days. Well qualified faculty and skilled supporting staff are the strengths of the department
