Third National level Technical Symposium on March 21st 2009

 The National level technical symposium on Ethical Hacking, BLITZKRIEG-09,Organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SJCET Palai under the auspicious of CSI College Unit and CSEA was inaugurated on 21st  March 2009 by the famous System Security Expert and Ethical hacking Specialist Mr. Manu Zacharia -The Chief Architect of The Matriux - The next generation Operating System.

Msgr. Philip Njaralakatt (Chairmain), Dr. P.J. George (Project Director), Dr. C.J. Joseph( Principal), Mr. Jubilant J Kizhakkethottam (Staff in charge CS Dept.), Thomas A.M (Student coordinator) were present on the occasion. Mr. Manu Zacharia conducted a workshop on Ethical Hacking. 67 external and 180 internal participants were present.
We also conducted Inter Collegiate technical fest which had competitions in  Paper Presentation, C Debugging, Web Designing, Best Troubleshooter and Network Gaming along with this program.

BLITZKRIEG '07
Second National level Technical Symposium on June 7th & 8th 2007    

The National level technical symposium on Mobile Computing organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, SJCET Palai under the auspicious of CSI Trivandrum chapter, CSEA and ISTE students chapter was inaugurated on 7th June 2007 by the former Governor of Meghalaya H.E. M.M. Jacob. The need of quality education in all respects including stress on extracurricular activities was stressed by the chief guest in his inaugural note. R.V. Iyer award constituted by the CSI (Computer Society of Indai) Trivandrum chapter to the highest mark scorer in Computer Science and Engineering B.Tech Degree examination was presented to Ms. Dinny Rose George of S4 CS. Mr. M.C. Jayakrishnan of InApp Technologies represented CSI Trivandrum chapter in this inaugural ceremony and award presentation. Msgr. Philip Njaralakatt(Chairmain), Dr. P.J. George (Project Director), Dr. C.J. Joseph( Principal), Mr. Jino Sebastian (Staff in charge CS Dept.), Vishnu Viswanathan (Secretary, CSEA) were present on the occasion.

A paper on 'Trends in Mobile Computing' was presented by Mr. M.C. Jayakrishnan. Exhibition of selected projects done by Sri. Avinash Prabhakar of AJCET Kanjirapilly was one of the highlight of day one.
In the second session of the day Mrs. Sandhya Nair (HR Manager, Infosys Technologies, Trivandrum) met all the placement officers from various Engineering / Arts colleges in Kerala. She had presented an enlightening session on ' Employability Skills: Expectations from Industry ' to placement officers and students. Third session of the day was a presentation by Mr. Niketh Sunder (Global HR Head : US Technology ) and Mr. Benny Joseph (Campus Relationship Manager: US Technology) on the same topic with more importance given to the role of Colleges in bridging gap between Industry and Institute. There was a close interaction between the HR personals, placement officers and students attended these sessions which was named as 'HR Talk'. Nearly 150 students from different Engineering colleges competed for Software programming, Code debugging and 8085 Programming conducted at 3 venues on the first day.

On the second day the proceedings of the symposium was released by the chief guest Mr. Kenny Jacob ( Chief Technical Officer : Torque Technopark) and the first session was about ' Future trends in Mobile Computing' by the guest. 12 papers on currently relevant topics were presented by students from various colleges. Web designing contest, IT Quiz, Project presentation, Network gaming etc. was conducted on the second day at different venues. Prizes for 8 competitions, conducted as a part of BLITZKRIEG and CSEA (Computer Science and Engineering Association) prizes were distributed at the valedictory function conduced in the evening.

BLITZKRIEG '05

National level Technical Symposium on Sep 30th & 1st  Oct 2005      

The National level technical symposium on Open Source Computing organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, SJCET Palai under the auspicious of CSI Trivandrum chapter, CSEA and ISTE students chapter was inaugurated on 30th September 2005 by Mrs.Monikka ,Red Hat, Inc. Red Hat, the world's leading open source solutions provider, is headquartered in Raleigh, NC with over 65 offices spanning the globe.The need of Open source approach to the design, development, and distribution of software, offering practical accessibility to a software's source code  was stressed by the chief guest in her inaugural note. Mr. M.C. Jayakrishnan represented CSI Trivandrum chapter in this inaugural ceremony.

Msgr. Philip Njaralakatt(Chairmain), Dr. P.J. George (Project Director), Dr. C.J. Joseph( Principal), Mr. Jino Sebastian (Staff in charge CS Dept.), Anish S (Secretary, CSEA) were present on the occasion. A paper on 'Open Source Community and Collabrartion' was presented by Mrs. Monikka. Nearly 125 students from different Engineering colleges participated in the symposium. We also conducted Inter Collegiate technical fest which had competitions in Paper Presentation, C Debugging, Web Designing, Best Troubleshooter and Network Gaming, 8085 Programming along with this program.
